Local San Diego musician, Zach Brosi Settles Into His New Style With Hit Single “TOO FAR GONE”
“I remember picking up the guitar and just having that mindset of focusing on myself, like something just really clicked, like this is where I’m at now,” … “It just came so naturally and I was so excited, like this is the sound I am coming into.”
Hailing from the small town of Yorkville, Illinois, Zach realized his love for music at the young age of 13 and has been tending to that love affair ever since. Whether it be collaborating with artists, busking, playing shows, playing on the road, Brosi has always had a genuine love for the music.
“I got my first guitar when I was 13, because I went over to a friend’s house [and] he just got an electric guitar and I was like ‘mom, I need this guitar, I need this electric guitar,’ and I got it,” said Brosi. “I remember the first song I ever wrote, I scratched onto a piece of notebook paper, I keep it with me to this day.”
Throughout high school, Zach kept growing in his knowledge of music and cultivating his art, eventually releasing his first project called “Absent Mind” at just 17-years-old, which was recorded entirely with Treehouse. After highschool, he ventured off to sunny San Diego for college where he continued to pursue music and grow in his art.
“I went to San Diego State and I kept pursuing music, kept writing, and whenever I would travel home for breaks, I would record at Treehouse again and that's when my second project came around, “Grounded,” and that was after my first two years of college,” said Zach. “I was still relatively new to the music thing, but was just so proud of what I was making, I was just like, ‘let's just put some substance out into the world.’”
Between his second project and his recent release, Brosi took time to grow as an artist and develop his authentic style. Throughout college, he would play shows and collaborate with other local artists he would meet at the boardwalk in San Diego. During this era of his life, he was developing himself as a musician and as an artist overall. He wasn’t writing songs for himself, but rather, was focused on strengthening his musical abilities to become the artist he’d always wanted to be. After years on this musical journey, he’d finally begin to settle into his niche.
It’s important to remember that everyone has something special about them that sets them apart from the masses, Zach’s uniqueness can be heard through his latest song “Too Far Gone,” a project that really signified who he was as an artist. This song re-introduced him to the world of solo music after playing in bands for a couple of years and showcased his new sound through this high energy number.
Everyone has their special “thing” that reveals who they are as a person, may it be music, a sport, or any hobby of some sort. The specific categories within these further help add to a person’s uniqueness, so for music, it could be the various different genres and styles. During a showcase that highlighted local artists from Zach’s hometown, called the “6191 session,” he took to the mic to share his music, the audiences filled with adoring friends and family. At the end of his set, he wanted to say a message to heighten the spirits and inspire the other local artists in attendance.
