Prepare To Be Musically Zapped By Shrinkray: The Three Piece Eclectic fusion Band Out Of San DIEGO.

Ever struggle so much to find a parking spot you wish you could just shrink down your car to pocket size and throw it in the back of your jeans? Are you standing in a crowded concert wanting to fight to the front so badly, you try to think small thoughts to shrink beneath the legs of every other fan and suddenly reappear in the front row? Ever just buy too much random stuff online and have no space to keep it? Here’s your solution: the invention of the SHRiNKRAY

SHRiNKRAY, the three piece eclectic fusion band out of San Diego, is breaking conventional norms and genres through their fantastic high energy grooves and licks. Refusing to settle for one static monotonal sound, the band instead blends all of their favorite genres into one fresh squeezed jar of noise begging to be cracked open. Join drummer Hunter Avery, bassist Eric Sigler, and guitarist Zach Brosi on their journey of world peace through immaculate vibes and absolute face meltage. Check out SHRiNKRAY on instagram @shrinkraylabs where you’ll find soul moving tunes, heartwarming photos, and info on upcoming shows!

In January, SHRiNKRAY made the trip out to Phoenix to perform at the Arizona Balloon Classic. We spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with the band, collaborated on some tunes, but really got the chance to understand the bands dynamic outside of the music. Not only do these guys shred together, but they’re friends outside of the music as well. That friendship is something that bleeds into their music. We were able to sit down with the band and asked them some questions about their musical influences and how being friends outside of the band influences their creativity.

Hunter

“My inspiration comes from practicing with the band. We have such great chemistry that ideas feel unrestricted and free flowing. I’m inspired by the creativity of my band mates. Being friends just makes it easier to communicate and treat our practice sessions as a fun thing and not a hassle. We know each other inside and out which makes our musical synchronicity that much stronger.”

Eric

“My inspiration comes from my musical friends because they continue to make the best music out there in my opinion. Shout out Chico Starr and SHR!NKRAY. Also, Mk.gee. Being friends brings forth a different type of connection when creating, it just feels natural. When you know and enjoy the people you make music with, you no longer have worries about what you wanna pitch in, because you already know if they’ll vibe with it or not. Being comfortable with your band mates is key and it gives the musical journey a lot more meaning. I love my band mates :-)”

Zach

“I gain inspiration from everything this crazy world has to offer! There are so many forms of art and expression and it so cool seeing individuals channel themselves in different mediums. Musically I am very inspired by the life / work of Anthony Kiedis from RHCP, Mark Spear from Khruangbin, and Tom Misch! Getting a long with the people you create with is vital for success in my opinion. My favorite compliment about our band is when people notice how good of friends we are just from watching us perform! We have a lot of fun along the way and it definitely pays off in the creation process”
